Velikoretsky Cross Procession 2015

The Velikoretsky Cross Procession is one of the oldest, longest, and most majestic walking pilgrimages in Russia, drawing tens of thousands of pilgrims. For six grueling days, participants journey entirely on foot, covering over a hundred kilometers through fields, forests, to the banks of the Velikaya River, where the miraculous icon of St. Nicholas was discovered. Along the route, they find overnight shelter in passing villages and small towns.
